Zarif: Global response to Khashoggi’s murder ‘late yet strong’

October 25, 2018 - 14:53

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said the international community’s response to the killing of a prominent Saudi journalist and critic was “late yet strong”, Mehr reported on Wednesday.

In response to a question by Japanese correspondent, Zarif added, “I believe thorough investigation into the case must be ensured.”

Noting that Washington is the chief supporter of the Saudi royals, the top diplomat said these supports only increase the crimes of this regime and the rise of chaos in the region.

The mysterious murder of Jamal Khashoggi after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul has led to international condemnation of the Saudi kingdom.
